What is your average timeline for closing?

This is a good real estate question to ask. Dedicated realtors should take less than six months from the beginning of the process to closing. If a professional has an average above that, it could be a red flag. 

Are you a full or part-time realtor?

This inquiry is perfect for setting the stage of expectations. If someone is full-time, you understand that this is the main job that they put time towards every single day. However, if a real estate agent says they are part-time, they will have other priorities that may not include you. Full-time is always preferred. This ensures that you are getting consistent and thorough service.

Have you helped people find homes in this area?

Having a real estate agent who knows the area you are interested in simplifies your experience. Since they are familiar with an area, they can give recommendations and customize your process. Someone who does not know much about the location may not be aware of certain features that can affect your quality of life. For example, how close is a grocery store? Is it close to an airport? These little details make a huge difference to inexperienced home buyers.
